CAT 2022 Notification

The notification for CAT 2022 has been released in July 2022 on the official website of IIM CAT.

CAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
• Candidates appearing in the final year of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
• Candidates applying for CAT 2022 should fulfill any one of the following conditions:
  a. Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks.
  b. Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with the required percentage.
  c. Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage.

CAT 2022 Exam Pattern

There are three stages of assessment in the CAT examination, i.e., Computer-Based Test, Written Aptitude Test, and GD or Personal Interview round. The computer-based test consists of both objective and descriptive questions. It is generally a 3-hour examination with 60 minutes allotted for each section. However, in 2021, IIM Indore conducted the CAT exam for 2 hours, with 40 minutes allotted to each section. Negative marking of 1 mark is applicable for every wrong answer in the MCQ questions.
