RAS is a state-level examination held for the recruitment of civil officers at various posts in administrative services, police services, revenue services, etc., in Rajasthan. RAS is one of the most sought-after government job exams in the state, and its popularity is evident in the increasing number of candidates that register for the exam every year. More than 6 lakh candidates registered for the RAS exam in 2021. 

There are three stages in the RPSC RAS Examination,  to crack the RAS examination, candidates must follow the latest exam pattern and syllabus prescribed by RPSC. RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Services)

The RAS or Rajasthan Administrative Services exam is a state-level civil services examination conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to recruit civil services officers in administrative, police, revenue departments, etc. RAS is one of the most sought-after examinations in the state. This is evident through the increasing number of applicants year after year.

RAS 2023 Notification

Rajasthan Public Service Commission has issued a notification for vacancies on 28/06/2023 for a total of 905 (State Services-424 and Subordinate Services-481) posts of Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination 2023.

RAS 2023 Exam Eligibility

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply for the RAS Pre exam, but they need to submit proof of passing before the Mains exam.

Age: The age limit for RAS applicants is 21 to 40 years and for non-gazetted posts is 25 to 45 years. Certain age relaxations are allowed to candidates from some reserved categories, as mentioned in the table below:

RAS Exam Pattern

The RPSC RAS examination is held in three phases i.e. RAS Prelims, RAS Mains, and Interview or Viva-voce.

RAS Preliminary Exam Pattern

The RAS Preliminary exam is an objective paper of qualifying nature. 

* 1/3rd negative marking for every incorrect answer is applicable.

Personality and Viva-Voce Exam Process

The candidates who qualify Mains exam cut-off marks of the RAS exam are called for the interview or personality test. The RPSC RAS Interview/Personality test consists of 100 marks.
