According to the respective regulations, candidates are eligible to participate in NEET (UG):
  • As per nationality, candidates for the NEET-UG exam may be Indian, Persons of Indian Origin, Overseas Indian Citizens, Foreign Nationals, or Non-Resident Indians.
  • Candidates have to be 17 years old at the time of admission or on or before December 31st of the admission year of the first year of the undergraduate medical programme.
  • The upper age limit for the NEET has been dropped, and anybody can now apply for the medical admission test.
  • Candidates must have completed the 10+2 degree, or an equivalent, with core subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, from an accredited Board/University.
  • Aspirants in Class 12th or equivalent (pursuing) are also eligible to apply for NEET 2024.
  • The percentage of class 12th required for the NEET exam is different for each category. NEET eligibility criteria in class 12 are minimum aggregate marks required in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) subjects. (UR - 50%,, OBC/SC/ST - 40%,, PWD - 45%)
  • There is no cap on the maximum NEET attempt limit.

In 2017, the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) announced a maximum age limit of 25 years for unreserved (UR) applicants and 30 years for reserved candidates.
