NEET 2023 Distribution of Marks

The distribution of Marks for NEET 2023 is as follows:

  1. NEET 2023 question paper carries a total of 720 marks.
  2. The question paper has four sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each section carries 180 marks.
  3. Each subject/section is further divided into two Section A (140 marks) and Section B (40 marks).
  4. Four marks are granted for each correct answer given by the candidate.
  5. NEET 2023 has a negative marking scheme, and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.
  6. In case a candidate has checked two options for a question in the OMR sheet, the answer will be considered incorrect, and 1 mark will be deducted.

Keep the following pointers in mind whilst filling the NEET 2023 OMR sheet:

  1. Read the questions carefully. Only give the answers to questions of which you are sure. Changing/erasing/obliterating the answer once filled is not allowed in any way and can be a punishable offence.
  2. Use of a ballpoint pen is allowed to mark the answers.
  3. There should be no tampering or scratches on the OMR answers sheet.
  4. Solve all the questions in the booklet provided first and then mark the OMR sheet as you won't be able to change the answer later.
  5. Do not mark more than one option in one question.
  6. Fill in all the details asked carefully.
  7. Do not forget to fill in the test booklet code.
  8. Candidates must sign the declaration column provided in the sheet in running handwriting with the time.
