Admission
NIOS, a government of India initiative, offers a flexible and learner-centric open schooling. NIOS certificates are equivalent to CBSE, CISCE (ICSE) & State Boards and are aligned with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) by NCERT.
Eligibility
- Passed Class X from NIOS/CBSE/ICSE/State Board/any other recognized board
- Minimum age: 15 years
- No upper age limit

Mode of Study
NIOS follows an Open & Distance Learning (ODL) model, which includes:
- Printed Self Learning Material (SLM)
- Academic support via NIOS Study Centres (AIs)
- Study material delivered by post to the registered address of learner.
Admission Cycles
- Block I: March - April
- Block II: September - October
(Late admissions are permitted with applicable late fees, as per NIOS norms.)

Admissions to NIOS are 100% online.

Documents Required
- Class 10 marksheet/certificate
- Date of Birth proof
- Valid ID proof
- Photograph & signature
- Address proof
- Category certificate (if applicable)
Subject Selection
- Choose a minimum of 5 subjects (including at least one language) as per the NIOS Scheme of Studies.
- Choose the subjects in line with college/university eligibility requirements for their intended career courses.
- Learners seeking greater flexibility may choose up to 7 subjects in total, including up to 2 additional subjects, as per NIOS norms.
