An International Environmental Conference for Young People : The UN defined children and youth as a target audience for global environmental protection at the Rio Summit in 1992. The importance of this audience is repeated at every meeting for world leaders.
The Young Agenda conferences are meant to develop activities in the areas of capacity building, environmental awareness, and information exchange, with a vision to foster a generation of environmentally conscious citizens, capable of positive action. Young Agenda is concerned with children and youth's right to be heard in issues concerning their own future.
